A Second Round of Aid for Fisheries Approved by Congress

National Fisherman reports congress’ Covid deal includes $300 million more for the fishing industry. This package is similar to the first covid-19 emergency aid although the process may look a little bit different than it did the first time.

BBRSDA recognizes some of the Covid-19 aid programs are not inclusive of all fishermen who need support, for example, first-year fishermen in 2020 have been left out of multiple programs. BBRSDA will monitor upcoming opportunities for aid and continue to to advocate for aid for the entire Bristol Bay fleet.
