Press & Marketing Update - May

Bristol Bay Sockeye is in the press and here are some highlights:
UPVM = unique views per month - for the publication

In April, the marketing program achieved placement in Well + Good (UVPM: 6.6M) titled “I’m a Nutritional Psychiatrist and Chef, and These Are the 7 Omega-3-Rich Brain Foods I Eat Daily.” In the article, Dr. Uma Naidoo lists top her top 7 omega-3 foods, including wild sockeye salmon on the list. The section about wild sockeye delves into our nutrition messaging with Dr. Naidoo sharing, “One of the best and easiest ways to get enough omega-3s in your diet—namely the brain-boosting heavy hitters DHA and EPA—is to include fatty fish in your meal rotation. Dr. Naidoo’s vote goes to wild sock-eye salmon, which she says packs around 1,744 milligrams of omega-3s in a six-ounce serving. “Most professional organizations recommend at least 250 to 500 milligrams of omega-3s daily for adults, yet this can come from a serving of fatty fish once or twice per week.”

Secured coverage from Parade (UVPM: 22.2M), via our relationship with RD Roxana Ehsani. The article, titled “This Is the #1 Best Food for Brain Fog, According to a Registered Dietitian,” emphasizes that fatty fish, such as wild Alaska salmon, is the best food to combat brain fog due to it being a rich source of omega-3 fats, vitamins, minerals and protein. The article stresses the importance of sourcing wild Alaska salmon, where you can trust the fish is wild and sustainable, and includes specific wild sockeye callouts throughout.

“One 3 oz serving of cooked wild Alaska sockeye salmon contains 14.2 mcg of vitamin D, which nearly meets your daily needs of 15 mcg. Sockeye specifically contains the highest levels of vitamin D compared to other salmon. The RDA for vitamin D is 15 mcg (600 IU).”

Roxana notes that you can get the benefits of eating wild Alaska salmon in any type of form: fresh, frozen, or canned.

One more exciting piece of secured coverage to share from Mashed (UVPM: 9.8M) titled “Gordon Ramsay’s Quick-Cooking Salmon Hack That Doesn’t Skimp On Flavor.” The article mentions how wild sockeye salmon from Alaska is a budget-friendly choice to recreate Gordon Ramsay’s hack. It also lists specific retailers, such as Sam’s Club and Safeway, that carry wild sockeye from Alaska. The article has been syndicated to MSN (UVPM: 177.9M) and NewsBreak (UVPM: 9.7M) and Mashed tweeted about the piece on their Twitter account (27.9K followers).
