Seafood Trade Relief Program for Fishermen

**Update on 12/03/20. The STRP has been extended through January 15, 2021

While AK CARES Act is oversubscribed and is no longer accepting applications, another economic relief opportunity for fishermen will open September 14th.

Seafood Trade Relief Program (STRP) is part of a relief strategy to support fishermen and other producers while the administration continues to work on free, fair and reciprocal trade deals to open more markets to help American farmers (and fishermen) compete globally.  Eligibility: A person or legal entity can receive up to $250,000 from the program. An applicant’s average adjusted gross income (AGI) cannot exceed $900,000 unless at least 75 percent of the AGI of the person or entity comes from farming, ranching, forestry, seafood harvesting, or related activities. The deadline to apply for the STRP program is January 15, 2021.

Salmon is being covered at a rate of $0.16/lb on fish caught in the 2019 season.
