Sockeye Exports and S03T Permit Prices on the Rise

The average price of frozen (H&G) sockeye exports nudged up 2 cents to $4.94/lb in March 2022, but represents a 35% increase from March 2021. In total, 2.4 million pounds of frozen sockeye was exported in March 2022, worth $12.1 million. The average export price in 2022 (through March) is up 32% compared to the same months in 2021, and volumes are up as well. See the export data in more detail HERE.

S03T permit prices have increased in recent months as well, with CFEC showing a permit value of $235,400 in April 2022. This marks a 26% increase (+$48,800) from April 2021. CFEC permit values are based on sales in the current and previous month, so may not always be reflective of current market conditions.
