2021 Election Winners
George Wilson Jr. (Seat B)
I am interested in running for seat B of the Alaska open seat.
I was raised on the Kvichak river at Igiugig. I started in this fishery in 1980 on my dad's back deck of the F/V Georgette Rose fishing for Nelbro which is now AGS.
I am a proud owner of F/V SassaLena since 2014 and fish for Silverbay. I am a local year round resident which I think is critical for the important issues that arise in our global fisheries in the bay.
I hope to bring my years of hands-on experience in this fishing industry and as well my background in welding fabrications to the board. I think I am fair minded and work with a vast array of people that comes thru the bay on a yearly basis. I hope and am excited to join the RSDA and learn even more about this organization and I wish to make it better for the future generations.
Thanks for your time and votes,
George Wilson Jr F/V SassaLena Naknek, AK
Michael Jackson (Seat E)
Return on Investment. (ROI) “A performance measure used to evaluate the efficiency of an investment”
Three years ago I was voted onto the BBRSDA Board. Members invested in me and I have been trying to maximize your investment by representing members as best I can with my words and actions on behalf of the fleet. The values I bring to the Board are dependability, persistence, and collaboration. The Board values these traits, voting me Vice-President, and a member of the executive committee.
I sit as chair of the marketing committee, and as a member of the sustainability and outreach committees. In my two and a half years on the Board, I cannot recall missing a board meeting, a member meeting, or committee meeting, and I have attended a majority of other committee
meetings, not just my assigned committee responsibilities, to stay informed on ALL issues affecting the BBRSDA. I was appointed to the ASMI Salmon Committee and represent the BBRSDA as the United Fisherman’s Association (UFA) representative, and I’m very proud to be an advisor to Commercial Fishermen for Bristol Bay (CFBB), a strong advocate for protecting our salmon habitat. I mention these positions to make the point that being a BBRSDA director has allowed me access to represent the fleet on many fronts through a variety of organizations. With this broad-based representation, your investment in me is paying good dividends. I fully intend to retain these positions for the benefit of our members.
I would appreciate your vote.
