New cooking website, retailer materials, and more promote consumer engagement and retail partners.
BRISTOL BAY, Alaska (January 25, 2021) – New marketing efforts from Alaska’s Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon expand support of retail and promotional partnerships and increase consumer engagement with innovative new materials and tools. The fishermen-funded brand has launched an all-new online Salmon Cooking Guide outlining easy at-home techniques and recipes, an informational retailer buyers guide, and new point-of-sale materials.
The new consumer-facing website, the Salmon Cooking Guide, showcases a wide range of simple, easy, cook-at-home recipes and techniques to help overcome a key challenge for salmon consumers–how to prepare it. Consumer market research and retailer feedback bolstered by a dramatic change in consumer habits in 2020 called for easy cooking methods and recipes with easy-to-find ingredients. The Bristol Bay brand responded with a curated custom website that aims to inspire confidence in home cooks. The new Salmon Cooking Guide features contributions of cooking demonstrations, expert tips, and more from leading culinary experts, including YouTube star Adam Ragusea, renowned Seattle Chef Tom Douglas, Alaska-based culinary influencers Maya Wilson and Kaylah Thomas, Bristol Bay salmon experts Susie Brito, and Apay’uq Moore, award-winning Texas barbecue pitmaster Jess Pryles, and more.
“People are cooking at home now more than ever, and seafood sales have seen a huge spike at retail,” said Lilani Dunn, marketing director at Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon. “We think consumers are looking for easy, healthy recipes that they feel like they can manage and cook better salmon meals for their families.”

“The materials from Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon are always among the best we get from any supplier, and our customers react very well to them,” said Jason Pride, VP of meat and seafood at Iowa-based retailer Hy-Vee. “We’ve partnered with the Bristol Bay team on several Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon promotions that have yielded outstanding results, and we can’t wait to do more soon.”
