Helpful Hints:
The photo contest is open to both professional and amateur photographers.
The BBRSDA seeks to enhance the value of Bristol Bay’s Sockeye Salmon through compelling photography of the fishery in action. However, not all aspects of fishing are necessarily "pretty" or appropriate for the consumer. Photos featuring blood running down a fish are not what we are looking for.
You may adjust and edit your images to optimize the photograph. Aspects such as cropping, brightness, contrast, and color balance can all be adjusted. Color and B+W images may be submitted, however images may not have any watermarks or captions on them.
Feel free to pose for a new photo or send us a shot you already have. We're looking for families, seafood, boats, wildlife, scenery or anything that enhances the image of Bristol Bay Sockeye!
The more the merrier! There is no limit to the number of photos each person can submit!
The original images should be high enough resolution to be printed.
Images taken on any camera or camera phone will definitely be accepted (just make sure your lens is clean!), however if the image is not a reasonable quality, we may not be able to print them in future publications.

Don’t be afraid to leave negative space in some photos or portraits. If the subject takes up the whole shot, it might be a great picture but there is no room to add text. For a portrait, you can achieve this by focusing on a person’s face/eye, then repositioning your subject in the shot.
Uploaded images should (ideally) be in jpg file format.
