BBRSDA has again partnered up with several major processors to provide 200,000 Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon labels for fresh and frozen sockeye salmon going to market this year.  This year’s label features our new branding and a call out to our consumer facing page bristolbaysockeye.org. 

The BBRSDA will hold its annual pre-season member meeting on June 10, 2017 in Dillingham, Alaska at the Dillingham Elementary School Gym at 12:00 pm. The BBRSDA is looking to harness the creative power of our Bristol Bay fleet. Throughout the 2017 season, we will be collecting digital photos from Bay fishermen that depict the unique story of Bristol Bay; Wild Taste, Amazing Place.

AMSEA will be holding a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor Training Course at SAVEC in King Salmon, AK on June 7th and 8th, 2017. The course is FREE to all commercial fishermen and meets USCG requirements for drill conductors on commercial vessels. Space is limited, so sign up now! We are very excited to be finishing up our Spring 2017 Town Hall series at the Little Norway Festival in Petersburg, AK! We encourage all of our Bristol Bay members to join us in the Ruth Sandvik Conference Room at the Petersburg, Public Library on Thursday, May 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Fritz Johnson was elected to Seat C - Alaska Resident.  Johnson will serve a 3 year term ending 2020.  Larry Christensen was elected to Seat F - Open Residency.  Christensen will serve a 3 year term ending 2020.

2016 was a banner year! From the second largest run in the last 20 years, the Bristol Bay fleet chilled 68% of the total catch, supporting increased H&G Fresh and Fillet production.

Our 3rd 2017 Outreach and Town Hall event is drawing near! Look for our BBRSDA booth at Kodiak's ComFish event from March 30th to April 1st.

Our next Outreach event will be in Bellingham, WA on March 1st, 2017. Look for our booth at Bellingham's Wild Seafood Exchange or join us at our Town Hall meeting at the Squalicum Boathouse at 7:30pm.  We encourage all members to attend!

A quick update - A time for member comments has been set for 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16.  As always, members are welcome to attend any and all of the 2 day meeting (with the exception of executive session).  Realizing time may be limited for those traveling in from outlying areas, or for those working, we hope this designated time makes planning to attend a little easier.
