BBRSDA Photo Guidance
Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association’s mission is to advance the quality and market success of Bristol Bay sockeye salmon. Photographs and videos submitted to the BBRSDA may be shown around the world representing Bristol Bay’s high quality, sustainable and delicious sockeye salmon and the story of how these fish come to market.
We are looking for content that tells the story of Bristol Bay’s amazing fishery by depicting sustainable and abundant harvests, quality fishing practices, and delicious preparation of fish.
Fishermen profile submissions should demonstrate careful, respectful and responsible fish handling techniques at all times. Review this checklist for guidelines.
Photo and video submission checklist:
High-resolution preferred (photo size greater than 500kb)
Photo taken from smartphones should be emailed, not texted (texting compresses size and quality)
Submit original photos (photos that are screenshotted or harvested from social media are also compressed in size and quality)
Photos should be in focus
Photos of whole fish should be with ice or in RSW
Photos must demonstrate responsible fish handling
No fish photos with blood or bruised flesh.
No photos of lying on or standing on fish
Videos must not include profane or disrespectful language
Photos of only sockeye salmon not other species (we know the big kings are AMAZING but we prefer those beautiful sockeye)
