BBRSDA Statement on COVID-19 Virus

BBRSDA recognizes the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis could cause disruptions to the Bristol Bay salmon fishery. One concern is staffing processing facilities and fishery operations with healthy workers, though it is impossible to predict or prepare for the numerous ways COVID-19 might affect the fishery. BBRSDA is in contact with processing companies, and will continue to monitor and communicate with Bristol Bay processors regarding contingency plans as things develop. We urge all Bristol Bay fishermen to practice diligent health and hygiene habits. Additional information will be provided as potential impacts or contingency options emerge with greater clarity.
